City Wide Clean Up Day 2021

When: Saturday, April 10, 2021

Time: 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Where: Traer St between Dows St and Rowley St (South of FJ Krob’s Office)

Items and Prices

  • $.30/lb - Television, Computer Monitors (Old style with tubes) The weight will be estimated on Clean Up Day, unless it is

    already known. (Example: a TV that weighs 20 pounds = $6, a TV that weighs 80 pounds = $24, TV that weighs 100

    Pounds = $30)

  • Free - Recyclable electronics – Flat Screen TV’s and Flat Screen Monitors, CPU’s, keyboards, small peripherals, cell phones, VCR’s, DVD players, stereos, printers, fax machines, radios, treadmills, stationary bikes, etc…

  • $5.00 - Dumpster Items – Chairs, small and light weight items

  • $10.00 - Dumpster Items – Couches, mattresses, larger and heavier items

    ***Note dumpster items do not include normal household trash, liquids or chemicals of any type, or otherwise hazardous materials, Dumpsters are intended on larger, hard to get rid of items. ***

  • Free - Appliances - Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves/ovens, microwaves, water heaters, water softeners, air conditioners (window), dehumidifiers, microwaves, trash compactor, compressors, vending machines, etc…

  • Free - Batteries – Car, truck, lawn mower, marine, etc... (Leaking, broken or otherwise dangerous batteries will not be accepted)

  • Free - Scrap Metals – Aluminum, steel and other recyclable metal that is difficult to get rid

If residents have any questions or have items that need to be picked up, they will need to contact Dave Beuter at (319) 560-0496 prior to Friday, April 9, 2021, to arrange pick up. This service is meant to be provided to residents 60 years and older and disabled residents.

The Walker Betterment Club reserves the right to refuse any item they deem unsafe to dispose of.

All Donations received will benefit the Walker Senior Meals Program. Thanks to recent donations from Kula’s in Walker, Dharma’s in Troy Mills and the Beschen Family to help support and sustain this program.
